Village Information

This Village Information zone presents useful information about the village for those who live here and those who visit alike. Locate the defibrillator so that you know where to find it if an emergency should ever occur. Explore Churt’s history, find out how to get here and where to stay, explore the locality through a variety of interesting and useful maps. Churt is surrounded by several beautiful lowland heath commons, areas of internationally recognised endangered habitats. Ten Walks in and around Churt will guide your exploration around the village and its surrounding countryside but please be sure to  follow the Countryside Code to protect and preserve this south-eastern corner of the Surrey Hills National Landscape.

Our local wildlife spotting guides will help you to identify the wildlife that you encounter on your walks and if you spot anything news worthy, then please share it by sending details and a photo to churtenvironment@gmail.com for publication in Churt News in Nature.

If you spot something that needs to be reported, the reporting problems  page will tell you how to do so.
