Redhearn Green
The green in front of St John’s Church is Churt’s Village Green, but it also serves as parking for both the Church and as an overflow car park for the Recreation Ground. It is the location for the Village Barbecue in the summer when organised by the Friends of St John’s and comes to life in the winter for outdoor carol singing.
The War Memorial to Churt’s fallen is on the Old Kiln Lane / A287 corner of the green, so Remembrance Day sees the Year 2 children from St John’s Infant School laying their wreath and on Remembrance Sunday, the whole village pays its respects and lays its wreaths.
