Parish Council Events
We hold two annual events to which we invite all our village residents.
The Village Cheer event in December is a social occasion where you can meet with your fellow villagers as well as your parish councillors to enjoy a glass or two of mulled wine and mince pies. New residents in the village are personally invited to come along.
The other annual event is the Annual Parish Assembly which is held in April. The purpose of the Annual Assembly is to give electors an opportunity to have a say on anything they consider valuable to the people of the parish. In addition the Parish Council, Waverley Borough Council and Surrey County Council often use this meeting as an opportunity to let local residents know what they have been doing over the past year and any plans they have for the forthcoming year.
The meeting is also an opportunity for local groups, clubs, societies and other voluntary and statutory organisations to provide an exhibition and/or have representatives from the group address those present at the meeting about the work they do and what they are involved in. Electors may also wish to hold a Parish Poll on a matter of community interest.
