Churt WI
Both in our village of Churt and widely across the United Kingdom, the WI’s ethos offers women the opportunity of sharing fun, friendship and learning to help widen their horizons and together, to influence local, national and international affairs.
Churt WI was founded in July 1919 and after 105 years it currently has 52 members.
The monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 2.30pm in the Churt Village Hall - apart from August. Visitors are more than welcome to listen to the speaker. The entrance donation is currently £5 and includes afternoon tea.
As we are a very socially active and fun-loving WI, in addition to the monthly meetings, several trips are organised during the year. These include both half-day and all-day excursions. We currently have an active monthly book club, plus we hold regular social ‘meet-up’ afternoons (usually on the 3rd Tuesday of the month) in the Churt Cricket Pavilion from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Members participate in quizzes, learning or refreshing oneself on a new or old craft, and many other events. Plus, refreshments are served, which enables everyone to chat and get to know one another!

If you have recently moved to Churt or one of the neighbouring villages and would be interested in finding out more about the activities that our WI partake in, OR, if you would like to join us one afternoon for our social meet-up in the Cricket Pavilion, we would love to see you as a guest.
