Emergency Plan
In recent years, we have seen a number of dangerous wildfires on the commons surrounding Churt.
This Emergency Plan has been initiated by the Parish Council in order that, in the event of any type of emergency occurring in the settlement of Churt, with a population currently around 1300, there is a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the various support agencies, and a plan to enlist local people to help others in the community.
The plan aims to provide a framework for the Parish Council Emergency Sub-Committee and Councillors on the procedure to be followed in response to an emergency or major incident. Its objectives are:
-
to establish a local emergency management structure
-
to give an overview of roles and responsibilities
-
to identify available community resources ʹ personnel, equipment and emergency accommodation.
